During the 2024 Republican National Convention, one of the speakers was an unlikely choice for that event: Teamsters President Sean O'Brien.
Unlike most of the speakers, however, O'Brien did not endorse GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump during his speech.
Rather, O'Brien spoke in general terms, arguing that corporations have all too often shown a total disregard for the American working class.

But on July 18 — the last day of the convention — a major labor union explicitly attacked Trump: the United Auto Workers (UAW).
On X, formerly Twitter, the UAW posted, "@realDonaldTrump is a scab and a billionaire and that's who he represents. We know which side we're on. Not his."
In response to UAW's tweet, The Dworkin Report's Scott Dworkin tweeted his scathing July 19 article on Trump's acceptance speech and wrote, "Absolutely the worst speech ever."
