During a campaign event in Tucson, Arizona Thursday, Donald Trump suggested that he if loses to Kamala Harris in November, he just might blame young people, according to The Daily Beast, despite claiming that he's gaining more support from them.
"We have a lot of young people here," the former president said. "My audiences, they’ve gotten younger and younger, do you notice that?”
He continued, “Don’t worry, I still like the old people the best, I don’t care! I don’t care, let that cost—all these young people. Let that cost me the election. I like the—I still like the old people the best. Got to stay with the people that got you there, right?"

One week after the 2016 presidential election, KQED reported that 36 percent of millennials voted for Trump, versus 60 percent for Hillary Clinton.
In a change of events, before President Joe Biden dropped his presidency bid, Axios reported in June that the MAGA hopeful appeared "to be making stunning inroads with young voters as" as a New York Times/Siena poll of likely voters showed the president had "just a 2-point lead over Trump among those between 18-29."
However, last week, The Hill noted that a new NBC News and SurveyMonkey poll shows, "Vice President Harris is leading former President Trump by 16 points among young voters."
The survey revealed that "50 percent of voters who are 18 to 29 years old would vote for Harris if the 2024 election were held today. Around 34 percent say they would vote for Trump, 6 percent say they would choose someone else and 10 percent say they would not vote."
