'Zero percent': Why Trump team’s newest fraud case filing has no chance at success

Former President Donald Trump's legal team's Wednesday filed a motion seeking a mistrial on the MAGA hopeful's New York civil fraud trial "alleging an 'appearance of bias’ by the presiding judge and his principal law clerk,'" according to The Messenger.

MSNBC's Yasmin Vossoughian spoke with former U.S. attorney and analyst Barbara McQuade about her thoughts on the filing.

"Donald Trump's team filing a motion more a mistrial. Not a surprise. We knew this was coming. his attorneys repeatedly said this was incoming. Does it have any legs here?" Vossoughian asked.

POLL: Should Trump be allowed to hold office again?

"No. Zero," McQuade said. "I mean, they're just accusing the judge of improper bias, based on his rulings, based on things he said in the past. You know, this is not going to fly. We are now weeks into this trial. If they wanted to recuse him on the basis of his bias, the time to do that was before the trial. There's nothing about his conduct here that has been improper. I think this has zero percent chance of being granted."
