President Donald Trump said Friday he should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for what he claims was his role in brokering a ceasefire between India and Pakistan last month, as well as for his supposed efforts to help resolve conflicts in Rwanda, Serbia and the Congo.
“They should give me the Nobel Prize for Rwanda. And have you looked at the Congo? You could say Serbia. You could say a lot of them,” Trump told reporters after arriving in New Jersey, where he plans to spend the weekend at one of his own golf resorts.
“The big one is India and Pakistan. I should have gotten it four or five times. They won’t give it because they only give it to liberals,” he added.

The president's remarks sparked widespread ridicule on social media, drawing criticism from political commentators and journalists alike.
Political analyst Mehdi Hasan wrote on the social platform X: "We are governed by a needy narcissistic man-child and if you’re a supporter or admirer of his, I pity you."
"Trump's mental clarity during today's hostile and sometimes incomprehensible presser is as obvious to foreign intelligence agencies as it is to us. This is just one clip but both our allies and enemies have eyes and ears too," said national security analyst Juliette Kayyem.
Politico columnist Jonathan Martin said: "Not seen this sorta open thirst since he was up for TIME man of the year."

"India’s news anchors and foreign ministers have said he had nothing to do with it, and yet he keeps saying this. The truth means nothing to this guy," wrote The Tennessee Holler.
