Watch: Rachel Maddow reveals Trump's lawyers have met with Georgia prosecutors amid ongoing election investigation
Rachel Maddow outlined a multi-page list of President Donald Trump’s mistakes since returning to office. She pulled enough material to fill the first half of her show.
“... [I]f there is something to learn about what Trump in power is going to be like, I think the first 100 days have given us one very clear lesson,” Maddow said, before launching into a tirade on purported savings Elon Musk’s DOGE had incorrectly claimed, government property it had incorrectly put up for sale, and government employees it had wrongfully removed.
She also delivered a countdown of administration decisions that she claims have complicated American lives and disrupted business. Beyond the president’s self-imposed stock market dip from blanket tariffs and trade wars, Maddow called attention to the administration’s reversal of its decision to stop accepting packages from China, its decision to rehire agricultural workers tied to the nation’s bird flu response, and its reversal of a plan to end the free COVID test program, among other second thoughts. Other reversals include the Trump administration’s decision to walk-back cuts to the 9/11 survivors’ program and medical expense costs and burial services to veterans.

Still more mistakes included more than 400 Social Security numbers and other private information revealed in the government’s JFK files released to wide media attention.
These mistakes, she said, do not include the intentional mistake of “using terror tactics and secret police tactics against people they are targeting, including secret detention and sending people to foreign gulags,” Maddow said, adding “they are reversing our alliances with the countries of the free world and aligning us with dictatorships.”
“We know he's trying for the whole dictator thing—no elections, no courts, no resistance, rule by terror, right? We know that. We know the people of this country aren't having it. But I think what we should also know … [having] lived through his first 90 plus days thus far, is him screwing up,” Maddow said. “It's him absolutely blowing it. I mean, it is one thing to understand the gravity of his intentions, but I think it is equally important to recognize that he's really bad at everything he tries to do.”
Maddow concluded that Trump’s first 100 days “is sometimes a very scary movie.” It can also be “an action movie with people springing into action to stand up and stop him.”

“... But one thing it’s also always been .. is an unfunny farce, a slapstick mess,” Maddow added. “The one word that best sums it up is ‘oops.’”
