Florida voters unleashed punishment on the White House in on-the-street interviews conducted by MS NOW reporters this week.
“It’s bull crap,” said one Latana, Florida, voter, speaking of Trump’s recent admission to reporters that he does not “think about Americans’ financial situation’ when considering his self-created war in Iran.
“Not even a little bit,” Trump immediately answered, when asked by a reporter “to what extent are Americans’ financial situation motivating you to make a deal [with Iran].
“The only thing that matters when I'm talking about Iran, they can't have a nuclear weapon,” Trump continued. “I don't think about Americans' financial situation. I don't think about anybody. I think about one thing: We cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon.”
Voter reaction to this statement delivered easy chum to reporters conducting interviews on the street in red-state Florida.
“He doesn't care about our situation. He doesn't,” said another voter. “He's just here for pride and ego. … He's not lying [about not caring]. And he proves it. Not only that, but also like food stamps and other stuff. He does not care about our financial situation.”
“That's ridiculous,” said another disgruntled Florida voter. “He's, you know, he's a pompous idiot.”
“You were born with a silver spoon in your mouth. Of course, Americans’ pockets don't mean anything to you,” said a fourth voter.
Civil rights and social justice activist the Rev. Al Sharpton told MS NOW anchor Ari Melbar that Trump would not likely survive a ‘no confidence’ vote under the British government system right now with such low approval.
“He has put a knife in the back of his own Republican fellow officeholders, and he says, ‘I don't care about y'all. I don't care how your districts end up. I don't care what you've got to try to sell in November during the midterms. I'm going to do me. And if you don't like it, I'll get up and I'll write about you on social media, and then I'll take a nap in the next day in the middle of our meetings,” Sharpton said.
