'Control your client': Judge cuts off Trump’s outburst during civil fraud trial closing arguments

Thursday, January 11 brought closing arguments in the bench trial for New York Attorney General Letitia James' civil fraud trial against Donald Trump, who attacked James and Justice Arthur Engoron for what he claimed was political persecution.

Trump, according to Politico's Erica Orden, told Engoron, "You have your own agenda, I certainly understand that. You can't listen for more than one minute."

The judge, obviously frustrated, told Trump's attorney, Christopher Kise, "Mr. Kise, please control your client."

On MSNBC, legal analyst Lisa Rubin noted that on the day of the closing arguments, Engoron was hoping that Trump would stick to the "facts" of the case. But the former president, much to the judge's frustration, was unwilling to do that.

Earlier in the day, Engoron's Long Island home was the target of a bomb threat. And Nassau County police sent a bomb squad to investigate.
