Dan Bongino, a staunch supporter of the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, chosen by President Donald Trump to serve as deputy director of the FBI, has confessed that he doesn't like his job.
During a Thursday interview with Fox News, highlighted by the Daily Beast, Bongino said the role makes him feel like he’s dying inside.
Just three months into the job, Bongino admitted the role has put a strain on his wife and family. He said he felt compelled to accept after being nominated by Trump.
“People ask me all the time, you know: do you like it? And I say no, I don’t, but the president didn’t ask me to do this to like it. Nobody likes going into an organization like that," he said.

Bongino continued: “Part of you dies a little bit when you still see all this stuff from behind the scenes.
The MAGA world initially celebrated his appointment, but his refusal to support their conspiracy theories about Jeffrey Epstein's death angered Trump loyalists.
After stating during an interview that the suspected sex trafficker took his own life, Bongino drew backlash from parts of the MAGA community.
In an apparent effort to regain support, Bongino this week launched fresh investigations into three cases dating back to the Biden administration.

In his Fox interview Thursday, Bongino also took aim at former FBI Director James Comey, who sparked controversy with a cryptic Instagram photo of seashells captioned “86 47.” The now-deleted post drew sharp criticism, with some accusing Comey of subtly encouraging violence against Trump.
“This man is a disgrace,” Bongino said of Comey. “He is a child. He is a big child," the FBI official added.
