President Donald Trump’s FBI is now targeting some of his own MAGA supporters.
“Though she may be familiar to the devoted False Flag reader, Elizabeth Lane is hardly a household name,” wrote The Bulwark's Will Sommer on Monday. “If figures like [Candace] Owens or Laura Loomer are the generals in the MAGA civil war, Lane, a fellow MAGA pundit, would be among the lower ranks of commissioned officers. An immigrant from the country of Georgia, she has been plugging away at Charlie Kirk conspiracy theories since his killing last September, serving as a sort of loyal lieutenant to Owens.”
Yet according to Sommer, Trump’s FBI is targeting Lane because of her feud with Gary Melton, a YouTuber who has tried to debunk Owens’ claim that the assasination of Charlie Kirk was an inside job.
“After Melton, an Army Special Forces (Green Beret) veteran who now works in weapons training and security consulting, accused Lane of being a Russian agent, Lane deluged him with bizarre messages—even offering to tell him her favorite sexual positions,” Sommer reported. “Crucially, she also boasted that she asked a friend with access to internal FBI databases to investigate Melton’s podcast producer.”
Quoting Lane as saying that she has access to the FBI database, Melton tagged FBI Director Kash Patel, the US’ official FBI account and former Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino.
“Normally, the FBI would not have said a solitary word about this, either because it is hardly the foundational material for an investigation or because of the bureau’s longstanding policy of not talking about the investigations it has launched,” Sommer wrote. “But incredibly, one of the bureau’s accounts responded just hours later to Melton’s post.”
“‘We ARE looking into this,’ the FBI’s official “Rapid Response” account wrote back on Wednesday,” Sommer reported. “That Lane suddenly finds herself in the government’s crosshairs is owed, in part, to her meteoric, inexplicable rise to prominence in right-wing media over the last year.” He noted that in addition to promoting conspiracy theories about the assassination of Kirk, Lane also “praised Russian President Vladimir Putin, even calling in January for Putin to use tactical nuclear weapons on the United Kingdom. On June 3, Lane interviewed Tucker Carlson’s even crazier brother Buckley Carlson; during their chat, she called for a violent revolution in America and the creation of ‘underground’ resistance cells of military veterans to overthrow the government.”
Patel, for his part, has struggled with accusations that he is often drunk on the job and has not been competent about his duties.
“This was the premier law enforcement agency,” wrote ex-President George W. Bush adviser Steve Schmidt last month. “The respect for it is crumbling faster than the morale inside of it is, which is saying something. Kash Patel is unfit. He is untrustworthy. Kash Patel is a buffoon. And yesterday, he was the latest buffoon unmasked at a congressional hearing.”
