B​ail bondsman becomes first Trump co-defendant to surrender: Will 'any defendants use his services'?

Of the four criminal indictments that former President Donald Trump is facing, Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis' case is the most expansive. Trump has 18 co-defendants in Willis' prosecution, and on Tuesday, August 22, Atlanta-based bail bondsman Scott Hall became the first co-defendant to surrender.

Hall, CNN reports, has "turned himself in" to the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta.

CNN notes, "Hall is facing seven charges, including the racketeering count that's central to Willis' prosecution, as well as several charges stemming from the Coffee County allegations. The Fulton County grand jury indictment accuses Hall of conspiring to unlawfully access voter data and ballot counting machines at the Coffee County election office on January 7, 2021."

Hall's surrender is receiving a lot of reactions on X, formerly Twitter.

Lawfare's Anna Bower notes that Hall "was involved in the Coffee County voting system breach."

The Atlanta Journal Constitution's Greg Bluestein tweeted that with Hall, "The surrenders at the Fulton County Jail are underway," adding that Trump "isn't turning himself into authorities until Thursday, but others are reporting to the jail today."

Reporter Marc Teichner pointed out that Hall "has a $10k bond, which shouldn't be hard to post since he's a bail bondsman."

Pro-Democratic activist Daphne du Maurier argued, "If you're looking to flip it’s best to be first :) Let’s see who else wants to get booked early."

Reporter/author Bill Dedman humorously tweeted, "Remember: People turn themselves in to authorities, jails, police, etc. They don't turn themselves into authorities, jails, police, etc."

Activist Susan Cooper had a humorous comment as well, posting, "Dying to know if any of the defendants will use his bail bonds services."
