Trump 'fake elector' granted three-month stay in Georgia criminal case: report

Georgia Republican State Senator Shawn Still, one of former President Donald Trump's "fake electors," managed to keep his position despite his Fulton County indictment alongside Trump and 17 others on charges related to their attempt to overturn the 2020 election, according to The Associated Press' September 2023 report.

The GOP leader attempted to move his case to federal court — and failed — that same month.

Nearly four months later, The Messenger reports the GOP leader "was granted a three-month stay Thursday on his part of the case."

Politico's Kyle Cheney reports via X (formerly Twitter), "Trump co-defendant and false Georgia elector Shawn STILL invoked his right — as a sitting state lawmaker — to delay his proceedings until after the GA legislative session. Judge McAfee granted his motion today."

Per The Messenger, "The proceedings to 'all aspects of the case' in Georgia will be halted for him until April 18, 2024."

In September, political director of the progressive group Fair Fight Nicole Robinson said in the statement, "It is incredibly discouraging that the review commission has declined to do its part to protect the sanctity of our elections by holding conspiracy-driven election deniers accountable. Efforts to subvert election outcomes and stifle the will of Georgia voters remain one of the biggest threats to our democracy."
