Haberman: Ivanka will try to testify with 'as little damage as possible' as Trump seethes over case
07 November 2023
This Wednesday, November 8, Ivanka Trump is scheduled to testify in the trial for New York State Attorney General Letitia James' civil fraud case against former President Donald Trump and the Trump Organization. The New York Times' Maggie Haberman made some predictions about Ivanka Trump's testimony during a November 7 appearance on CNN.
Haberman told CNN, "In terms of Ivanka Trump, she's going to try to get in and out with as little damage as possible. I know that there has been some prep going on. She has been very reluctant to do this."
The Times reporter noted that Ivanka Trump hired "her own lawyer separate from Trump lawyers," which has been "a bone of contention in Trump's circle."

"I expect that she is going to try to do as little as possible to inflame her father, but also, to distance herself from any questions that the AG would have," Haberman told CNN.
Ivanka Trump's father, Haberman added, is "to be clear, very very angry about this case."
