Trump’s 'slurring' in latest interview concerns experts: 'Craziest thing I’ve ever heard in my life'

Donald Trump's interview with billionaire X owner Elon Musk — taking place on "X spaces" Monday night — is live, and according to Musk, "unscripted with no limits on subject matter."

The "highly entertaining" conversation — as Musk called it — left many journalists and political experts across the social media platform confused, and deeply concerned about the former president's current mental state.

USA Today columnist Rex Huppke wrote: "EXPERT POLITICAL ANALYSIS OF DONALD TRUMP'S INTERVIEW WITH ELON MUSK: This is the craziest f—king thing I've ever heard in my life and any Republican who walks away from this with unsoiled trousers is living in a fantasy world."

Talking Points Memo founder Josh Marshall said: "They both manage to sound much stupider than usual when they're talking to each other. Remarkable."

MSNBC analyst Dr. Vin Gupta added: "If you ever thought it was biased to expect Pres Biden to submit to a cognitive test and not ask the same of former Pres Trump, I present to you tonight’s spaces conversation."

The Washington Post senior political reporter Aaron Blake noted: "Trump suggests that Musk put solar panels on the roofs of his cars."

The Insider editor Michael Weiss added that Trump said: "'I got along with Kim Jong-un. We had dinner, we had everything.'"

Bloomberg Opinion senior executive editor Tim O'Brien wrote: "Trump is slurring his words, and is unable to clearly enunciate S-words, in unusually messy ways during this Musk interview. He had trouble hearing at the NABJ convention and at his Mar-a-Lago presser. He has declined and aged noticeably over the last year."

CNN chief national security analyst Jim Sciutto commented: "It’s not an interview when the person asking the questions has endorsed you and is a donor to your campaign."
