Nearly 100 days into President Donald Trump's second term, voters seem dissatisfied, particularly with his management of inflation and tariffs.
According to a recent Washington Post-Ipsos poll conducted from April 18 to April 22, Trump's approval rating concerning the economy stands at 39 percent. 61 percent of adults disapprove of his performance in this area.
The poll revealed that 53 percent of adults believe the economy has declined since Trump began his second term, while only 21 percent feel it has improved.

In an article published in The Bulwark on Tuesday, political commentator John Avlon argued that Trump lacks character and integrity, which is why his presidency "is doomed to end in disaster and tears."
"That’s where we are just 100 days into this administration. The downstream effect of Trump is that American greatness has been diminished in the eyes of the world. There is now a great danger that this century will witness a profound retrenchment of America, from autocratic forces undermining our democracy to the weakening dollar harming our economy," he said. "It will all have a cataclysmic impact on Americans’ daily lives."
"Don’t reach for false equivalence. America is objectively worse off than we were 100 days ago. The blame should be placed directly at Trump’s feet and those of his apologists and enablers," Avlon wrote.
The author called for fostering a patriotic and inclusive movement aimed at strengthening democracy and reuniting the country through meaningful policies.

"We will have to soldier through the next 1,400 days. We will have to find silver linings. We need to build a broad-based, common-sense movement that is patriotic, positive, and inclusive," Avlon said.
"Those bold goals should animate us moving forward, but they should not—must not—distract us from confronting the disastrous decision our nation made."
