The 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) got underway in Davos, Switzerland on Monday, January 19, continuing through this Friday, January 23. And one of the attendees is U.S. President Donald Trump. Now, WEF organizers are warning that scammers are selling bogus "VIP" packages that falsely promise access to the Trump Administration during the event.
Some billionaires, according to Bloomberg News reporter Jenny Leonard, have been duped into paying for the nonexistent VIP passes. And WEF organizers are trying to save other people from falling for the scam.
In a post on the Davos 2026 website, organizers warn, "Caveat Billionaires, It has been brought to our attention that again this year external parties are selling 'VIP access to USA House' and other Stromback Global venues in Davos. Volume of inbound queries this year suggests that these fake VIP passes may be the fastest selling fiction about Davos since Thomas Mann's Magic Mountain. Our sympathies to those who fell victim to these scams."
Leonard notes, "USA House, located in a church just outside the security perimeter in Davos, is hosting panels with CEOs and Cabinet officials throughout the week. President Donald Trump is set to address the World Economic Forum Wednesday afternoon, (January 21), and his speech will be livestreamed for an audience at USA House, which is hosting many of the administration's top officials and entourage."
Others attending the event, according to CNBC, range from JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky
