A major bombshell rocked the sports world when, on Sunday, February 22, Team USA won a gold medal over Canada in the Olympics — marking the U.S. team's first gold medal in men's hockey since 1980.
Following the victory, U.S. President Donald Trump posted an AI-generated video that depicted him playing hockey with Team USA. In the video, a fictional sports announcer declares, "What a play from Trump!" while Survivor's 1982 hit "Eye of the Tiger" (from the movie "Rocky 3") plays.
The video is drawing a lot of comments on X, formerly Twitter.
Some MAGA Republicans praised the video. MAGA Voice tweeted, "BREAKING Trump just reposted this EPIC Grok Video of him taking on Canada in a Hockey match WE ARE SO BACK."
The far-left Patriot Takes wrote, "Trump posted an AI video of himself punching a Canadian hockey player and winning the Olympic gold for Team USA.
Other X users, however, were highly critical of the video.
Liberal Allen Michael posted, "Trump not wearing a helmet is the only thing that's accurate here."
Bill DeMayo wrote, "I'd love to see those cankles fit in a pair of skates lmfao."
X user Ammar Ansar mocked Trump by posting a video that depicts him playing hockey with the late Iranian dictator Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomehni.
"Countdown" host and former MSNBC firebrand Keith Olbermann, meanwhile, attacked FBI Director Kash Patel's response to the Team USA victory, posting, "PATEL JOCK-SNIFFS AT OLYMPICS ON OUR DIME; hypocrite who once demanded vacation planes be denied FBI directors caught on tape in hockey dressing room Krash Patel completely destroys the Gold Medal celebration; FBI = Fan Boys Int'l."
