'I’ll read it first': Trump mulls sharing Biden letter with press after finding it in Resolute desk

On his first night back in the White House, President Donald Trump issued a slew of executive orders — and spoke with the press while signing those documents.

While signing his executive order on birthright citizenship, and reporter asked him, "Did President Biden leave you a letter? — to which he responded, "He may have."

Trump then looked in what is now his desk and found the letter, saying, with amusement, "It could have been years before I got it…. Maybe we should all read it together. Or maybe I'll read it first and then make that determination."

Asked what Biden had on his mind, Trump responded, "Unification of our country."

Trump remarked, "You know, I didn't know that he gave a pardon to his family. Because he did it during my speech…. They released it during my speech — I mean, during my speech…. It's bad precedent, obviously."

Former President Biden issued an abundance of pardons during his final morning in the White House.

Some were released earlier in the morning, but some came only minutes before Biden's presidency ended.
