Trump aides reveal horrifying reason why they refused to tell Trump about RBG's death during rally: report

President Donald Trump's aides have revealed exactly why they could not inform him of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's death during his campaign rally in Minnesota: they feared his supporters would celebrate.

As news began to circulate about Ginsburg's death, Trump had just taken the stage to speak in Bemidji, MN. However, Trump had no knowledge of passing, and though some rallygoers attempted to yell the news to the president, he was unable to hear the news. Now, New York Times correspondent Peter Baker is revealing why the president was not told. According to Baker, Trump's loyal supporters might have cheered in the wake of Ginsburg's passing.

When news broke on Friday that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had died, President Trump was just five minutes into a campaign rally in Minnesota and aides opted not to pass word to him onstage. If he announced the death of the liberal justice from the lectern, they feared the crowd would cheer.

At one point during Trump's rally rant, he even stressed the importance of the Supreme Court as he noted the number of justices he nominated.

“That’s why the Supreme Court is so important, the next president will get one, two, three, or four justices,” Trump said. “I had two. Many presidents have had none. They’ve had none. Because they’re there for a long time.”

Shortly after Ginsburg's death was announced, Republicans were slammed for their presumed disregard and lack of respect for the historic trailblazer. Less than six hours after Ginsburg's death, Trump announced he would nominate a new justice and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) quickly vowed to push the president's agenda by holding a vote on the Senate floor for his nominee.

Democratic lawmakers quickly fired back to highlight the hypocrisy in Republicans' current stance considering it is a full 180 compared to how they struck down Former President Barack Obama's nomination of Merrick Garland.
