The president strikes back: MAGA 'an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic'

President Joe Biden has struck back at right-wing critics of his Thursday night speech in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in which he warned of the imminent and existential dangers that former President Donald Trump's Make America Great Again movement poses to the democratic future of the United States.

Trump has also reacted negatively. First came a Friday morning meltdown on his financially-troubled Twitter knockoff app Truth Social, severing a conspiracy theory spreading spree. Trump resumed posting throughout the afternoon and evening.

On Saturday, Trump called Biden an "enemy of the state" in a two-hour address to supporters in Wilkes-Barre.

Biden responded late Sunday morning and did not back down.

"The MAGA agenda represents an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic," he tweeted. "It doesn’t respect our Constitution. It doesn’t believe in the rule of law. And it doesn’t recognize the will of the people."
