'My uterus has a question': Ted Cruz harangued for hypocritical reaction to leaked Supreme Court ruling

United States Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) appeared on Fox Business on Tuesday morning and lobbed baseless allegations about Monday's surprise leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion overturning abortion rights.

According to the 98-page document that was published by Politico, the 6-3 majority right-wing Court, led by Associate Justice Samuel Alito, intends to reverse the landmark Roe versus Wade and Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania versus Casey decisions, which codified reproductive liberty.

If Roe is indeed struck down, other constitutional rights – contraception, same-sex and interracial marriage, privacy, religious freedom, free speech – are likely to follow.

Predictably unconcerned with the glaring threats to fundamental freedoms, Cruz, an anti-choice Republican who participated in the attempt to overthrow the federal government on January 6th, 2021, wasted no time accusing a nameless liberal of being behind the leak despite having no evidence to support such an allegation.

"The reason it was leaked is some left-wing presumably law clerk wanted to put political pressure on the five Justices who presumably are in the majority right now. They wanted to put heat and they wanted to invoke politics to try to get them to change their vote. And by the way, if that left-wing law clerk succeeds, it would be the most grotesque politicization of the Supreme Court in the history of our nation," Cruz groused.

Recall that Cruz was gung-ho about stealing a Supreme Court seat in 2016 from then-President Barack Obama and that he emphatically supported adding Associate Justice Amy Coney Barrett to the bench eight days before the 2020 election.

Cruz then declared that he believes that whoever shared the Court's forthcoming ruling should be hunted down by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and go to prison, even though there is no indication that any laws were broken.

"You mentioned an FBI investigation. I hope there is a serious one and I hope whoever is responsible for this not only is fired instantly but is prosecuted and serves real jail time for violating the confidences of the Supreme Court," said Cruz.
