How long could Steve Bannon's prison sentence be if he is convicted on all charges in New York State?

Conspiracy theorist and erstwhile White House advisor Steve Bannon could spend decades in prison if he is convicted on all of the criminal charges that were filed against him by New York State Attorney Letitia James on Thursday.

“A New York State Supreme Court grand jury indictment charged Mr. Bannon and We Build the Wall with two counts of Money Laundering in the Second Degree, a Class C Felony, two counts of Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree, a Class E Felony, one count of Scheme to Defraud in the First Degree, a Class E Felony, and one count of Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor," James said in a statement. "Mr. Bannon is scheduled to be arraigned today before State Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan in Manhattan at 2:15 p.m.”

Bannon, one of former President Donald Trump's most loyal subjects, was convicted in July of contempt of Congress for refusing to honor a subpoena issued by the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol. Bannon was also pardoned by Trump at the end of his term after being federally indicted for the same border wall scam.

But New York State passed a law in 2019 eliminating the presidential pardon double jeopardy loophole, granting James the legal authority to pursue these new actions against Bannon, who has pleaded not guilty.

Based on what James revealed on Thursday, Bannon is in a lot of trouble:

• Money Laundering in the Second Degree is a Class C Felony that carries a potential 15-year prison sentence and five years of probation. Two counts: thirty years.
• Scheme to Defraud in the First Degree is a Class E Felony that has penalties of up to a four-year prison term or five years of probation as well as substantial fines. One count: four years.
• Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree is a Class E Felony that is punishable by up to four years in prison, five years of probation, and a fine. Two counts: eight years.
• Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree is a Class A Misdemeanor that carries up to a one-year jail sentence, three years of probation, and a fine. One count: one year.

That adds up to 43 years. Bannon is 68.
