'A snitch and a coward': Former IL Gov. Blagojevich blames Trump troubles on Michael Cohen

Former Illinois Governor Rod J. Blagojevich shared Sunday who he believes is responsible for former President Donald Trump's potential indictment from a Manhattan grand jury: Michael Cohen.

Blagohevich expressed his feelings toward's the former president's ex-lawyer during a Fox News interview, asserting Trump may suffer the consequences of his actions due to Cohen's disloyalty.

A "star witness" in the case, The Daily Beast reports the 2024 hopeful's "choice to elevate former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani was a major factor in Cohen's decision to come clean about the alleged hush money payoff to adult film star Stormy Daniels."

@Acyn shared a clip from Blagojevich's interview, writing,: "Michael Cohen is a snitch and a coward. I spent eight years in prison with a few guys like that…"

He continued, "They get life sentences, they get their sentences cut short, if they're willing to compose on somebody else, and that's precisely what that coward did to President Trump. He's the one who's responsible for whatever was happening with Stormy Daniels."

According to the New York Times, in 2020, Trump commuted the former Democratic governor's "14-year criminal sentence for corruption after eight years." The Times reports he was "arrested in 2008 when prosecutors said he had schemed to sell a Senate seat being vacated by Barack Obama, who had newly been elected president. Mr. Blagojevich was swiftly impeached, unanimously removed from office, convicted and cast out by his own party."

Blagovejich asserted in the interview, "The federal elections committee has exonerated the Trump campaign for any misdemeanor wrongdoing, and now he's doing what he's doing because he's made a deal, I believe, with those prosecutors who are chasing President Trump.

In 2019, Reuters reported, former special counsel Robert Mueller said "he had not exonerated Donald Trump of obstruction of justice, as the president has claimed."
