Watch: Russian state television says Ukraine is a 'medieval' country led by a 'monkey with a grenade'
29 August 2022
A Kremlin propagandist and so-called military expert declared on Russian state television this week that Ukraine is a "medieval" country and then made an antisemitic comparison of its Jewish President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to a lesser-evolved primate.
"Western countries say they're bringing back the Iron Curtain. We're not the ones doing it. They're trying to impose it. We can already see what will remain on our side and what will remain over there," the man alleged of the United States and its North Atlantic Treaty Organization allies on Russia 1.
"We see a monkey with a grenade trying to blow up a nuclear power plant. Ukraine is a medieval country, which for some reason still has a Soviet power plant," the panelist continued in reference to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, the largest of its kind in Europe that has been bombarded by shelling while under the occupation of Russia's invading forces.

"It's just like Haiti. As we remember, [former Haitian President Jean-Claude] Duvalier declared himself a voodoo sorcerer, the Tonton Macoutes walked the streets, and he claimed to command the Army of the Dead," added Russian President Vladimir Putin's pundit. "Zelenskyy is doing the same thing right now."
