Hunter Biden files lawsuit against Rudy Giuliani alleging laptop data may have been 'manipulated'
26 September 2023
Rudy Giuliani was once a federal prosecutor for the Southern District of New York, but these days, the former New York City mayor is battling legal problems of his own.
Giuliani is among former President Donald Trump's 18 co-defendants in a Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis' prosecution, which focuses on their efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in her state. And Giuliani is also facing a civil lawsuit from President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden.
The Messenger's Kayla Gallagher reports that the younger Biden, in his lawsuit, alleges that Giuliani may have "manipulated" the contents of his laptop.

In 2020, the FBI seized that laptop, and Giuliani obtained a copy of an external hard drive.
"The laptop's contents revealed personal aspects of Biden's life that have been scrutinized by Republicans in an effort to claim corruption in the Biden Administration," Gallagher notes. "Thousands of e-mails have raised eyebrows among conservatives."
In the lawsuit — which also names attorney Robert Costello — Hunter Biden alleges that Giuliani "proceeded to brag about having copied (Hunter Biden's) data onto his own computer and about having accessed, analyzed and manipulated the transferred data."
According to Gallagher, "Some reports have found no evidence that the laptop has been tampered with. However, copies of the data that circulated later show contents from April of 2019, which suggest they could have been manipulated, according to other reports, including in The Washington Post."
