Mediaite reports Fox News liberal commentator Jessica Tarlov got a good dig in on MAGA enthusiasts who twice drooled over the photo of left-wing streamer Hasan Piker at the Republican midterm convention.
Piker in his underclothes appeared not once but twice on the convention jumbotron, which pressed Tarlov to quip that the gathering amounted to “a bunch of betas standing around looking at a half-naked socialist.”
The photo of the extremely underdressed Piker, pulled from the streamer’s Instagram, hit the arena’s massive jumbotron as part of a video montage targeting the political left on Wednesday, where it preceded Texas Attorney General and Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton. It was then shown again during the convention’s second night on Thursday, preceding speakers like Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.), Rep. Lisa McClain (R-Mich.), Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt and Donald Trump Jr.
Piker’s photo showed him posing for a mirror selfie.
Tarlov’s swat followed a conversation about the RNC’s convention attendance with Fox News’ Jesse Watters confessing on Friday’s edition of The Five that “There was some concern, Jessica, even among Republicans, that they weren’t gonna be able to pull the convention off.”
“But it does seem they did a pretty good job,” Watters added.
“Yeah, well, they got all the best photos of Hasan Piker in a Speedo so — ” Tarlov said, drawing laughter from her co-hosts.
“I missed that,” Watters claimed.
“You missed the banana hammock situation?” Tarlov pressed.
“I missed that,” Watters repeated between giggles.
“But they used it both nights,” Tarlov prodded.
“Nope, I didn’t catch it,” Watters insisted.
Tarlov then implied that Watters may have missed the best part of the convention.
“That’s how ripped he is, for a bunch of betas standing around looking at a half-naked socialist,” she said.
Mediaite reports that even Piker reacted to The Five’s Friday discussion on his stream, remarking on the convention’s choice to use the photo.
“It doesn’t make any sense, ’cause like that doesn’t make us look bad, that doesn’t make the movement look bad. It kinda makes their criticisms look silly, because they’re like, ‘This is the guy.’ Like, ‘This is the … Islamic terrorist, by the way. Look at how hot he looks.'”
“The sheer lack of self-awareness on that panel is actually impressive at this point,” quipped one X under the post.
“Peanut butter and jealous I think he was,” posted another X heckler.
