Host can’t stop laughing after Trump calls himself a 'basically' honest person
09 October 2024
During an appearance on comedian and actor Andrew Schulz's Flagrant with Akaash podcast series this week, the former president declared himself a "basically truthful" person.
Since 2024 Democratic nominee Kamala Harris launched a campaign ad in August saying that she worked at McDonalds during her college years, Trump and his allies have made it their mission to say the vice president never worked at the fast food chain.
"I always refer back to the simplicity of McDonald’s. You lied about McDonald’s. You lied about many things, and she’s a liar," Trump said on the podcast.

"You — there should be some kind of a rule when they know it’s a lie, you can’t do a commercial on it. But this is a thing that’s going to end in 29 days so they can say what they want. I have a hard time doing it to them because I’m basically, you know, I’m basically a truthful person."
Schulz then burst into laughter, asking Trump, "What does that mean?"
Ignoring the question, Trump continued, "She’s given me so much ammunition. I don’t really have to. She’s a radical left lunatic who will destroy our nation. Other than that, but she will destroy our nation."
In 2021, The Washington Post published a report titled, "Trump’s false or misleading claims total 30,573 over 4 years," and just last month, CNN reported that the GOP nominee "delivered more than 30 false claims during" the ABC News debate against Harris.
