A David Attenborough parody video about how Russian tanks 'end their lives' goes viral on Twitter

A parody video was posted to Twitter on Monday morning in which a man uncannily impersonating renowned naturalist David Attenborough walks viewers through the end-of-life cycles of wayward Russian tanks meeting their demise in Ukraine.

Since it first appeared, the clip has gotten more than 10,000 shares and upwards of 34,000 likes.

The 45-second spot was a poignant swipe at Russia's annual May 9th Victory Day celebrations commemorating the defeat of Nazi Germany in 1945. In a speech riddled with lies and easily dismantled propaganda, President Vladimir Putin desperately attempted to sell his people on why his illegal war must continue.

Putin's forces have been decimated by Ukrainian resistance fighters armed with weapons supplied by the United States and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Thousands – possibly tens of thousands – of Russian troops have been captured, injured, killed, or simply ghosted their mission. The destinies of those who survived or fled are still being written.

The fates of the mobile artillery units left behind, however, were sealed at the moment that they crossed Russia's Western border into Ukraine.

"This is a Russian tank. Like the Pacific salmon, Russian tanks migrate long distances from the abyss of Russia to end their lives in Ukraine's beautiful fields. Driven by an evolutionary desire to end their life somewhere better, after reaching Ukraine, all species of Russian tank die," the narrator states to footage of blown up, smoldering tanks.

"The 2022 run was a major event for predators, such as Ukrainian special forces teams (Bayraktar TB2 drones) and local farmers on tractors," he continues. "Most tank species pop their turrets to celebrate the end of their life cycles.”
