MAGA influencer Laura Loomer says FBI deputy director Dan Bongino is now considering leaving the Trump administration after the administration’s mishandling of the controversial Epstein files.
“[Bongino] is now seriously thinking about resigning from the FBI as Deputy Director over Pam Blondi’s mishandling of the Jeffrey Epstein file release and the lack of transparency at the DOJ,” Loomer posted on X. “… Source tells me it’s very likely that Bongino resigns from the FBI unless Pam Blondi is FIRED by President Trump or resigns from the DOJ.”
Earlier today Axios had reported Bongino took Friday off after an argument at the White House with Attorney General Pam Bondi over the Jeffrey Epstein files. Four anonymous sources told Axios that insiders believed Bongino had had already quit when he didn’t show up for work. But administration officials informed staff the deputy director was still on the job at the time.
This new update comes as tensions between officials reach a boiling point.

“Pam said her piece. Dan said his piece. It didn't end on friendly terms," said one Axios source, who added Bongino left angry.
Other sources familiar with Bongino's side of the argument told Axios the deputy director is increasingly irritated with Bondi fumbling the Epstein case after publicly overpromising critical information, including Epstein’s incriminating "client list", which apparently never existed.
Earlier this year, Bondi herself told Fox News that Epstein’s client list was "sitting on my desk right now to review." But more recently she tweaked her claim, saying Epstein's Department of Justice file — not his famed client list — was what was had been on her desk, and that there actually was no client list.
The abrupt about-face on an issue Trump allies and Trump himself had been pressing for years roiled the MAGA community, who has been hoping to see Epstein connected to politicians and media figures.

Loomer, who has demanded Bondi resign, wrote earlier on X Friday that Bongino and F.B.I Director Kash Patel were "furious" with the way Bondi had handled the case.
While some Trump advisers have turned on Bondi’s hype and reversal, sources told Axios Trump still "loves Pam and thinks she's great.”
