Watch: Openly gay Missouri Republican masterfully stumps anti-LGBTQ bill author

Missouri Republican Rep. Phil Christofanelli confronted his fellow GOP Rep. Ann Kelley during a recent House floor convening about her proposed anti-LGBTQ school-related legislation.

The House bill, sponsored by Republican Ann Kelley, was introduced on February 23 and read a second time on February 27. The proposed Parental Rights in Education law states that "no nurse, counselor, teacher, principal, contracted personnel, or other administrative official at a public or charter school shall discuss gender identity or sexual orientation with a minor student" unless they're a licensed mental health care provider and have a guardian's permission.

Heartland Signal tweeted, MO State Rep. Phil Christofanelli (R) criticizes fellow GOP Rep. Ann Kelley's anti-LGBT school bill. PC: Who is Martha Washington? AK: [George Washington's] wife. PC: With your bill, how could that be mentioned in the classroom? AK: That's not sexual orientation. PC: Really?

Christofanelli pressed Kelley to further explain her intention behind the bill.

However, Christofanelli eventually concluded, "So, it's only really certain sexual orientations you want prohibited from introduction in the classroom."

He then asked, "Which sexual orientations do you believe should be prohibited from Missouri classrooms?"

Kelley replied, "We all have a moral compass, and my moral compass is compared with the Bible."

Christofanelli followed up saying, "Lady, I believe during your testimony you said you didn't want teacher's personal beliefs entering the classroom, but it seems a lot like your personal belief you would like to enter all Missouri classrooms."
