'This is not a well man': George Conway makes case to look at Trump’s mental health

Donald Trump's recent actions have conservative attorney George Conway suggesting we start evaluating the former president's mental health.

Trump on Friday evening posted a video from a well-known member of the Gambino crime family, and thanked the ex-mobster for calling the ex-president a "legitimate" guy. The internet reacted negatively to this interaction.

Trump's promotion of a criminal also caused pause for Conway, a frequent Trump critic and conservative activist. Appearing on CNN Saturday, Conway said it's time to check in on Trump.

"Telling judges, committed to uphold the rule of law, that they should listen to a mobster. You know, he is a sociopath," Conway said, adding that "one of the things I think that needs to happen this year is we need to start talking about Donald Trump's mental state."

He continued:

"This is not a well man. A man who would say this publicly and actually believe it, because he does, is not a well man," he said. "And we have not -- as a country really dealt with that fact. And I think to totally understand where Trump is coming from, where his authoritarian bent is coming from, and the danger he poses to the country, we need to start talking about that."
