'I had health on my mind': Nathan Wade testifies cancer stopped him from dating in 2020

Nathan Wade refuted claims that he dated Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis before joining the legal team prosecuting former President Donald Trump by testifying he had cancer in 2020.

"I had health on my mind," Wade told the court.

The special prosecutor's testimony contradicts that of coworker Robin Yeartie who said at a hearing Thursday that Wade's personal relationship with Willis began before he joined the Georgia election interference legal team.

Wade said he tried to keep himself in a sterile environment in 2020 and part of 2021, which made him cautious about dating amid the COVID pandemic.

Willis and Wade acknowledged they had a “personal relationship” in a previous court filing. This relationship is the basis of demands from Trump's co-defendants that Willis be removed from the case.
