Computer forensics expert: Mike Lindell has 'no grounds for appeal' of $5M ruling

When MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell held a "Cyber Symposium" in South Dakota in August 2021, the far-right MAGA Republican offered to pay $5 million to anyone who could disprove his claim that Chinese officials helped Joe Biden steal the 2020 presidential election from Donald Trump. Robert Zeidman, a Nevada-based software developer and computer forensics expert, took the "Prove Mike Wrong" challenge and thoroughly debunked Lindell's conspiracy theory.

Lindell has tried to get out of paying Zeidman, but on Wednesday, February 21, U.S. District Judge John R. Tunheim ruled that Zeidman legitimately won the challenge and ordered Lindell to pay the $5 million he owes.

Zeidman, who supported Trump in both 2016 and 2020, discussed the judge's ruling during a CNN appearance two days later.

Zeidman told the CNN host he is feeling "a little more optimistic" about collecting the money Lindell owes him but still has "some doubts that I'll see it."

Zeidman explained, "Lindell has some ability to keep appealing. I think the appeal should be denied pretty quickly; there's really no grounds for appeal at this point. But he can drag it on for a while. Unfortunately, there are rumors that he's running out of money, and it doesn't surprise me."

When Acosta asked Zeidman "if it was worth it," he responded, "I definitely think it was."

Zeidman told Acosta, "I think it's always right to seek the truth, whatever the truth may be. And you know, I make a comfortable living, so I don't need the money…. But it does concern me that Mike Lindell, his specific claims of fraud — which I disproved — are still getting traction, and more so as we get closer to the upcoming election. That concerns me a lot."
