Michael Savage slams fellow right-wing radio host Rush Limbaugh over claim media is exaggerating coronavirus threat: ‘Destroys all credibility'

Earlier this week on his radio show, Rush Limbaugh lambasted the “drive-by media” for — as he sees it — making coronavirus out to be much worse than it actually is and trying to create a “panic” in order to harm Donald Trump’s presidency and the stock market. And another far-right radio host, Michael Savage, is slamming Limbaugh for his ridiculous comments.

On Monday, February 24, Limbaugh told listeners, “Coronavirus is being hyped as a deadly Andromeda strain or Ebola pandemic…. And the survival rate of this is 98%.... 2% of the people who get the coronavirus die. That’s less than the flu, folks.”

Limbaugh went on to say, “The way it’s being used — I  believe the way it’s being weaponized is by virtue of the media. And I think that it is an effort to bring down Trump. And one of the ways it’s being used to do this is to scare investors, to scare people in business.”

On Twitter, Savage — writing in mostly upper-case letters — asserted that Limbaugh is “against misinforming his listeners” by claiming that “coronavirus is no threat in U.S.” and is “only being magnified to hurt Trump.” Savage posted, “This is what happens when science illiterates are given big microphones! Destroys all credibility of conservative media.”

Far-right talk radio hosts often stick together. But Savage, over the years, hasn’t hesitated to attack everyone from Limbaugh to Sean Hannity.
