'Almost young enough to need a nanny': Ana Navarro skewers GOP over Gaetz report pushback

As Democrats call for the House Ethics Committee to make public its report into ex-Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) over sex trafficking allegations, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is pushing back, claiming that the "report is not finished," and "in rough draft form," according to CNBC.

Speaking on a panel moderated by CNN's Anderson Cooper Monday night, The View co-host and former Republican Ana Navarro took aim at the Louisiana lawmaker.

"When Speaker Johnson said, 'We're in a different era,' — he's right. We're in the [Donald] Trump era, and the laws and the statutes and the protocol that applied every other time, just seems not to apply to Donald Trump," she said, referring to the speaker's comments after Trump secured the White House earlier this month.

"Let me let me just say this," Navarro continued. "I remember when [former President] Bill Clinton had two attorney general nominees — Zoe Baird and Kimba Wood — who were eliminated, who had to withdraw, because they had employed illegal nannies."

She added, "Matt Gaetz is accused of sleeping with a girl who's almost young enough to need a nanny, and republicans are saying, 'There's nothing to see here.'"
