Lauren Boebert ordered to appear in court after failing to pay speeding ticket

2024 has been a tumultuous year for far Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colorado), from her son's legal problems to being thrown out of a theater in Denver during a presentation of "Beetlejuice." And now, Denver publication Westword is reporting that Boebert has been ordered to appear in court after failing to pay a speeding ticket.

According to Westword's Chris Perez, Boebert was given a $174.50 speeding ticket on May 12 for driving 84 miles per hour in a zone where the speed limit was 65.

Boebert was ordered to pay the ticket by July 3, but she was given a July 26 court date when a payment wasn't received.

Despite all the controversy that has surrounded her, the far-right MAGA congresswomen appears likely to be reelected in November.

Boebert, fearing she would lose in Colorado's 3rd Congressional District — where she is presently serving a second term — moved to the ultra-conservative 4th Congressional District and has been competing for the seat previously held by former GOP Rep. Ken Buck.

Having won a GOP Congressional primary in the 4th, Boebert is now in the general election phase of her reelection campaign.
