Ken Chesebro’s secret X account renders him useless to Fani Willis: Elie Honig

The new revelations about Kenneth Chesebro's secret social media account make him worthless as a cooperator in Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' election racketeering case against former President Donald Trump, former federal prosecutor Elie Honig told CNN's Jake Tapper on Monday.

Chesebro, who accepted a plea deal after advising Trump after the 2020 presidential election, was revealed this week to have run a social media account, "BadgerPundit," pushing to overturn the election, and much of what he advocated on that platform contradicts what he told prosecutors in Georgia and Michigan about his role in the plot, according to reports and Honig.

"The guy's an election liar...people should expect them to lie about other things too," said Tapper. He then posed a question to Honig: "Might this have an impact on his agreement to cooperate in the Georgia election subversion case?"

"Yes, absolutely," said Honig. "Kenneth Chesebro is facing more legal jeopardy now, and he is not and never has been a viable cooperator for prosecutors in Georgia."

Honig focused on statements given to investigators in Michigan and Georgia that he described as "misleading at best, outright false at worst."

Honig also argued his lawyer hadn't done much to help Chesebro.

"That defense we just saw from his lawyer is utterly nonsensical," Honig said. "It doesn't get him out of the fact that he provided them incomplete and perhaps incorrect information. But the other thing to keep in mind is as long as Kenneth Chesebro is out there giving two different stories, not fully embracing what he did not admitting what he did."

"He is not a viable cooperator for the Fulton County D.A.," Honig added. "They gave Kenneth Chesebro a softball deal. They let him plead out to probation. And the reason they gave us well, he's cooperating know he is not he has not come clean. He is a failed cooperator. That's a black eye for the Georgia district attorney as well."
