Kathy Griffin Blasts 'Dime Store Barbie' Tomi Lahren for Telling Michelle Obama to Sit Down: 'Go F*ck Yourself'

For many months, Kathy Griffin kept a low profile. Having received death threats from supporters of President Donald Trump and been disowned by CNN—all in response to an anti-Trump joke that Griffin said “crossed the line”—the outspoken liberal comedian opted to avoid the spotlight. But the in-your-face Griffin of the past is back in a big way, and this week, her main target has been far-right commentator and Fox News contributor Tomi Lahren.

The controversy started after former First Lady Michelle Obama described her husband, former President Barack Obama, as a “great president” during a September 24 rally in Las Vegas. That day, the 26-year-old Lahren posted on Twitter: “Michelle Obama said we ‘had’ a great president. By what measure? Not in economic growth. Not in border enforcement. Not in strength on the world stage. Sit down, Michelle.”

Griffin took exception to the “Sit down, Michelle” part, and her angry response on Twitter didn’t mince words. Lambasting Lahren, Griffin posted, “Oh really, you dime store Barbie? Mrs. Obama may go high, but I certainly won’t. Go fuck yourself, Tomi. You evil, horrible shell of a human being.”

This wasn’t the first time Griffin has attacked Lahren on Twitter. After an interview request from Lahren for Fox News’ digital platform Fox Nation—which she declined—Griffin posted, on September 4, “Dear @TomiLahren, you and your network told me my career was over and that I was irrelevant. Now, you want to interview me. Not only do I not want to waste my time with you, I’m too busy selling out shows on my U.S. tour. Go fuck yourself.”
