US Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) will not endorse his South Carolina GOP colleague, US Rep. Nancy Mace, in her re-election efforts this year.
Punchbowl News' Jake Sherman reported via X (formerly Twitter): "Wow -- JOE WILSON, longest serving GOP member of the House from S.C., endorsed Catherine Templeton, the primary challenger to Nancy Mace."
The Hill reports, "Wilson said in a statement announcing the endorsement that Templeton is 'smart, honest, and dedicated'" to former President Donald Trump's priorities.

"As we face the peril of the Biden agenda—never ending inflation, taxes, crime, and illegal immigration, we need reinforcements in Congress who will always stand with conservatives, President Trump, and our beloved Lowcountry—we need Catherine Templeton in Congress," the congressman added.
Templeton announced the endorsement via X, writing, "@teamjoewilson endorses Team Templeton! Thank you for your support, Congressman! We’re honored to have you on the team! #SC01"
Wilson also endorsed Mace's rival, former State Rep. Katie Arrington in 2022, according to the Post and Courier.
Roll Call noted that Arrington was also backed by Trump.
