'What changed?' Major podcaster takes jab at JD Vance over his silence on Epstein files

A podcaster who had previously been amicable toward President Donald Trump during his 2024 campaign has now turned his focus on Vice President JD Vance in relation to the Jeffrey Epstein controversy, Politico reported Wednesday.

Theo Von recently reshared a segment on the social platform X from his June conversation with Vance. In the clip, the vice president affirmed, “the government should release files” pertaining to the criminal investigation into the convicted pedophile.

The post included a message from a progressive activist account that said, “Hey JD, what changed?”

Sharing the post, Von wrote: “Yeah, what changed?”

While some conservative media voices have fallen in line with the push to drop the Epstein story, others — including high-profile figures like Tucker Carlson, Laura Loomer and Steve Bannon — remain vociferous, demanding release of the documents.

Interestingly, the vice president had consistently and publicly demanded transparency in the Epstein investigation well before joining the White House — urging that key files be made available to the public.

“If you’re a journalist and you’re not asking questions about this case you should be ashamed of yourself,” Vance said in a post on X in 2021.

He added: “What purpose do you even serve?”

Meanwhile, in a scathing Truth Social post on Wednesday morning, Trump publicly rebuked his followers for continuing to pursue the Epstein saga.

“Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats work,” he wrote. “Don’t even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don’t want their support anymore.”

Later in the Oval Office, Trump claimed he had “lost faith in certain people,” accusing them of being “duped by the Democrats” over the Epstein files — even though Republicans were leading calls for more transparency over the issue.

Former Republican strategist Rick Wilson said Wednesday Trump's rift with his Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement over the case of convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein will only get worse.

"It is not a conspiracy that Donald Trump was quoted saying, 'Oh, Jeff and I are friends. We party, and he likes women on the younger side.' None of that's a conspiracy. All that is real," Wilson said during an appearance on MSNBC Wednesday evening.
