Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said on Saturday that the United States supplying F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine carries "colossal" risks to the US and its Western allies, according to a report published by Reuters.
"We see that Western countries are still adhering to the escalation scenario. It involves colossal risks for themselves," Grushko declared, per Reuters. "In any case, this will be taken into account in all our plans, and we have all the necessary means to achieve the goals we have set."
President Joe Biden agreed to send the aircraft after Kyiv pledged to not use them to attack Russia within its borders, telling reporters at the G7 summit in Hiroshima, Japan on Sunday that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave him a "flat assurance that they will not, they will not use it to go on and move into Russian geographic territory."

At the same news conference, Biden responded to Moscow's thinly-veiled attempt at intimidation.
"How would you respond to the Kremlin calling this a 'colossal risk,' Mr. President?" Biden was asked.
"It is for them," Biden declared.
