Fox News host rips House Republicans for holding same impeachment hearing 'over and over again'

Many right-wing media outlets, including Fox News, have enthusiastically promoted House Republicans' impeachment probe of President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.

But so far, the impeachment efforts of House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Kentucky) and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) haven't turned up anything concrete. And those efforts suffered a major setback when former FBI informant Alexander Smirnov, touted as their star witness, was arrested for lying to the FBI and reports showed that he was getting his information from Russian government intelligence sources.

Moreover, even if President Biden is indicted on any articles of impeachment in the U.S. House of Representatives, they are likely to fail in an impeachment trial in the Democrat-controlled U.S. Senate.

Fox News' Dana Perino expressed her skepticism about the Biden impeachment campaign during a segment with her colleague Bill Hemmer.

Perino, who served as White House press secretary under President George W. Bush, told Hemmer, "At the end of this week, Congress is due to go into recess for another two weeks. And I do think that in some ways, it just feels like they keep doing the same hearing over and over again. And people are starting to wonder: At some point, do you fish or cut bait and do something about a vote or not, and move on to the general election?"

Mediaite's Alex Griffing notes that Perino isn't the only right-wing media figure who has expressed frustration with House Republicans' Biden impeachment probe.

When Jordan appeared on Newsmax recently, host Rob Finnerty told the far-right congressman, "It kind of seems like you’re chasing your tail at this point, because this is not going to go anywhere.”
