'They’ve kind of gone rogue': House Republican infighting ensues over calls to impeach Biden
21 June 2023
Boebert's resolution comes after Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) announced last month it is it is "'very likely' that articles of impeachment will be introduced in connection to an alleged pay-for-pay scheme involving President Joe Biden (D) when he was V.P."
Per Axios, House lawmakers are set to vote on the Colorado lawmaker's resolution later this week, "with Democrats planning to introduce a motion to 'table,' or kill, the measure."

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-California), voiced his disagreement with Boebert's resolution Wednesday, according to the report.
The Colorado MAGA lawmaker has previously criticized the Speaker, as one of the far-right House Republicans who voted against McCarthy for the role of House Speaker, The New York Times reports.
Boebert is also one of a handful of House GOPers who lambasted the California congressman for striking a debt deal with Biden last month, saying, "If this bill passes with a majority of Democrats voting in favor of it, then I'm sorry, that;s the end of Kevin McCarthy's speakership. That is a bad, bad look to pass a bill of this magnitude without the support of the majority and if it's Democrats."
Greene, who according to Axios, "has introduced impeachment resolutions against five Biden officials," told Axios, "Impeachment has to be done ... I do not have an exact timeline, but I'm converting them to privileged resolutions."

She added, "People are fed up with the weaponized government ... so, in my opinion, and the opinion of the base, we have all the evidence we need," Greene said.
Meanwhile, some Republican leaders think moving towards impeachment process is a waste of time.
"They are just using [these motions] for raising campaign cash," an anonymous House GOP member told the news outlet.
"This motion is not going to pass. It's probably going to have quite a bit of opposition from both parties," Rep. John Duarte (R-California) said.
Rep. Garret Graves (R-Louisiana) added the resolution "actually undermines" the party's "future efforts," according to Axios, noting, "Impeachment [is] one of the awesome power of the Congress. It's not something you should flippantly exercise in two days."
Referring to Boebert, Greene and other MAGA lawmakers, McCarthy ally Rep. Ken Calvert (R-California) told Axios "I think they've kind of gone rogue."
