Vice President Kamala Harris is gaining support from voters who typically back her opponent, former President Donald Trump.
Speaking with CNN data reporter Harry Enten on Tuesday, CNN host Erin Burnett reported that Harris "is making gains in key swing states with a surprising and crucial voting group."
Enten joined the Burnett to detail the statistics.

"The white working class voters — white voters without a college degree — that is Donald Trump’s core group," Enten said. "That's the reason he was able to break down that giant blue wall in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin."
Donald Trump still leads, Enten added, but the margin shrank significantly over the last few weeks.
Harris' numbers with that particular group are better than they were with President Joe Biden four years ago in those battleground states, the CNN reporter noted.
The Wall Street Journal noted earlier this year:
Trump lost Michigan to Biden in 2020. Democrats made up the difference in white-collar suburbs, including Oakland County northwest of Detroit. They made some inroads in blue-collar areas like Macomb County, northeast of Detroit, but Trump still carried the day.

"We're still looking at Trump having an advantage amongst white working class voters in the Great Lake battleground states," CNN's Margins of Error podcast host added. "But the margin is shrinking."
Non-college white voters are key group across the board, and they make up the majority of those states, according to Enten. "The fact that Harris is closing in on Trump with them is the big reason why she has those advantages she has now," he said.
"A welcome thing for Democrats," the data reporter emphasized.
