GOP rep 'shows his true colors' by openly bashing Biden bill his family benefits from: report

A Pennsylvania congressman has greatly benefited from a President Joe Biden law he's openly criticized, according to a Wednesday HuffPost report.

Per the report, US Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA) slammed Biden's Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) in a 2022 statement, as the "so-called Inflation Reduction Act," claiming that it is "loaded with bad policy and wasteful spending that will ultimately worsen inflation, expand government, and hurt the middle-class."

However, HuffPost reports the IRA provided a car dealership owned by the Pennsylvania lawmaker "a nearly $315,000 grant to install a 261.9-kilowatt solar panel array," and is expected "to save the firm $23,700 per year in energy costs, according to the USDA."

Per the report, the Eerie Times-News, a local Pennsylvania news outlet, was the first to report the grant's benefit to Kelly's business earlier this week.

Kelly, a staunch Donald Trump supporter, has represented his district for 13 years.

The Eerie Times-News also reported that Kelly urged the Supreme Court to smack down the Colorado Supreme Court's decision to kick the MAGA hopeful off the 2024 ballot due to his role in the January 6 attack on the US Capitol.

Now, 25-year-old Department of Defense legislative analyst Preston Nouri, a Democrat, is running against the Pennsylvania Republican leader, and, according to HuffPost, is demanding that the congressman return the grant funds.

"Mike Kelly shows his true colors once again," the Democrat said in a statement. "For over 13 years, he keeps getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar, taking taxpayer money to enrich himself while working against the interests of the people he’s supposed to represent."
