'We killed babies out of the womb': George Santos equates abortion with slavery and infanticide

Embattled United States Congressman George Santos (R-New York) said on the Loud Majority podcast in 2022 that abortion is akin to slavery and that our present-day society practices infanticide.

Santos' statement was one of several charged claims that Santos made in the episode that resurfaced this week. The podcast – labeled as "anti-government" by the Southern Poverty Law Center – is produced by the Whitestone Republican Club in Queens.

"George, you know, you can say anything you want," host Kevin Smith said to Santos.

"All right, well, I'll say this is what I'll say. I talk about this a lot. All of us in this room, we can agree that when we look at the American past and we look at slavery, we think it was barbaric, was terrible. Right? Right," Santos began.

"Fifty years from now – and I want everybody in this room to write this down somewhere, tell your kids, George Santos said this – fifty years from now, we're gonna look back at what we are doing in this country and we're going to say, we killed babies out of the womb? We aborted our own?" he continued.

"That is barbaric. We're going to be – we're going to be remembered as the most barbaric generation to ever live," Santos added. "Fifty years from now, your kids are going to have to look at their kids in the eyes and say, 'yeah, that was the thing we did. Yeah, that was normal.' And if you didn't stand up for it, guess what? You were canceled. You lost your job. You can lose your livelihood. That's the times we're living in today."
