'Please stop embarrassing us': Long Island residents take petition to expel Santos to D.C.

New York GOP Rep. George Santos' Long Island constituents traveled to Washington, D.C., by bus this week to petition for the congressman's removal from office, Long Island Press reports.

Members of the advocacy group Courage for America and the nonpartisan organization Concerned Citizens of NY-03 shared a video to Facebook displaying calls for their congressman to resign from his position.

Per Long Island Press, members of New York's 3rd congressional district shouted “Hey hey! Ho ho! Santos has got to go!” “Do the right thing!” and "Vote him out!" while gathered outside of the Capitol building.

Eva McKend with CNN interviewed a few of the enthusiastic constituents about their mission to demand GOP leaders "expel" Santos immediately.

"You are not fit for office," Patricia Caiozzo, a Long Island constituent said. "You fictionalized an entire resume."

Another member, Taiba Ahmad said, "Your constituents are asking you to resign, and please stop embarrassing us."

Jody Kass-Finkel with Concerned Citizens of NY-03 asserted during a press conference, "We have only one goal and that is to have George Santos removed from squatting in our seat in the House of Representatives."

The House Ethics Committee as well as Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are all currently investigating Santos. But, despite the probes for his excessive lies, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has yet to move to expel the congressman.

Long Island Press reports it is "unclear" whether the constituents' petition was successfully delivered.
