Former CIA Director: Marjorie Taylor Greene 'not fit' for Congress

John Brennan, former director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) suggested during a Friday night appearance on MSNBC Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is incapable of serving as a member of the United States Congress, Mediaite reports.

MSNBC host Nicole Wallace noted Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) said Greene "cannot be trusted with America's national security information," in response to the MAGA lawmaker's social media rant regarding Jack Teixeira, the suspect arrested earlier this week for leaking highly sensitive documents.

Greene tweeted Jack Teixeira is "being treated like a traitor" under President Joe Biden's administration because he is "white, male, Christian, and antiwar."

She also said, "It's the Biden Admin and the DOD who are acting like criminals. They're the ones who should be held accountable to the American people because of what they’re doing in Ukraine."

During their conversation, Wallace said to Brennan the Georgia congresswoman "apparently sits on the Homeland Security Committee of all things," asking him if he agrees with Cheney's statement.

The former intelligence agency director replied, "From my perspective, I think Marjorie Taylor Greene has demonstrated time and time again that she's not fit to hold public office with some of her commentary that she has made, even previously. And so, therefore, I believe she should not be involved in any type of sensitive, classified information. And she does have some clearances because of her role within the Congress and position on the committee."
