Freed Capitol rioter claims Jan. 6 was a 'total set up' — and says prosecutors are 'guilty of treason'

President Donald Trump sent shockwaves through Washington when, on the first night of his second presidency, he issued across-the-board blanket pardons for more than 1500 of the defendants involved in the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol Building — including some who violently assaulted police officers that day.

In a rural area of Texas, Trump supporter Jenny Cudd is making her home available to pardoned January 6 defendants. And CNN took a look at her efforts in a report broadcast early Wednesday morning, January 29.

Cudd herself is among the January 6 defendants, although she wasn't among the more violent offenders. The Texan was sentenced to two months of probation for illegally entering the Capitol Building. Video footage aired by CNN showed Cudd admitting, "We did break down Nancy Pelosi's office door."

One of the pardoned January 6 defendants who is staying on Cudd's property is Don Hazard. Sentenced to almost five years in prison, Hazard is a member of the far-right Patriot Boys of North Texas. And he openly called for retribution against prosecutors during a conversation with CNN's Donie O'Sullivan.

Hazard told O'Sullivan, "I don't think any of us were fairly charged. None of us got a fair shake in court. Federal judges, prosecutors — I think they're all guilty of treason."

When O'Sullivan asked Hazard, "Do you think there should be retribution," the militia member responded, "Most definitely. I think so. I mean, most definitely, I think so."

Hazard noted that after he was released from federal prison, he visited a gun shop in Texas and was able to "check out some firearms and whatnot."

The militia member insists that he did nothing wrong when he invaded the Capitol Building on January 6, 2021.

Hazard told O'Sullivan, "The only regrets that I have at all about what I did was just got outsmarted by the left. It was a total set up. It was a trap, and we walked right into it."
