Despicable Trump Ally Roger Stone Called for Bernie Sanders to Be Shot for Treason

Too bad for Roger Stone that the internet remembers. This time it’s his sleazy red-baiting. These days, the notorious, nefarious Stone—opposition researcher, all-around dirty trickster, organizer of the “Brooks Brothers riot” of the 2000 Florida recount, rumor-monger of the Michelle Obama “whitey” tape, and general political hitman for the GOP—remains an ally of Donald Trump (even though he quit last year as Trump’s campaign manager). He is also chief of a Trump SuperPac, the Committee to Restore America's Greatness. What specific consultations consultant Stone may be whispering into the billionaire’s ear can only be deduced by listening to what crawls out of Trump’s mouth. 

Mostly it’s trash talk, with ample portions of pseudo-hick xenophobia and exuberant misogyny. 

For some time, The Donald has also been trolling the Sanders campaign and simultaneously trawling for Bernie Sanders voters:

Trump recently tweeted that “Sanders has been treated terribly by the Democrats—both with delegates & otherwise. He should show them, and run as an Independent!” The Republican made similar remarks during his April 26 victory speech. (The Sanders campaign has rejected Trump’s suggestion.) Trump also said on MSNBC that "Sanders has a message that's interesting. I'm going to be taking a lot of the things that Bernie said and using them.”

Trump and Stone must be yucking it up after hours over this performance, as phony as everything else the candidate does on the biggest stage he’s ever had. Even though it may well be coming from Stone’s own advice, the play for Sanders voters must be hilarious to him. Because back in 2014 he tweeted this:

Like other thugs in word and deed, Stone has a record of suggesting violence as a solution to political differences. As we’ve seen throughout the campaign, Trump himself is also partial to this kind of incitement. Given that and the rest of their political philosophy, you have to wonder why they haven’t broken out the armbands yet. Stone and Trump obviously have an exceedingly low opinion of Sanders supporters if they expect their bag of schemes and tricks will convince many of those supporters to buy the high-and-wide pile of manure the pair is selling.
