Conservative strategist confident Harris 'is going to win — and maybe even comfortably'

With Election Night 2024 less than two weeks away, the United States' presidential race still has no clear frontrunner. Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris is slightly ahead of former President Donald Trump in some national and battleground state polls, while Trump has small single-digit leads in others.

A national Morning Consult poll released on October 22 found Harris with a 4 percent lead, yet a national CNBC poll released two days later showed Trump ahead by 2 percent. And a late October Wall Street Journal poll found Trump ahead by 3 percent nationally.

During a Thursday, October 24 appearance on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," veteran conservative strategist/consultant Mark McKinnon laid out some reasons why he believes Harris has the momentum and is headed for victory in November.

McKinnon, whose GOP clients have included former President George W. Bush and the late Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona), told "Morning Joe" host Mika Brzezinski, "I think there's there significant gaps that make me believe Harris is going to win, and maybe even comfortably. There's the gender gap; I think women are going to crawl over broken glass to break the glass ceiling."

The conservative strategist/consultant continued, "There's an enthusiasm gap of almost ten points for Harris voters over Trump voters. And there's a favorability gap. What's really surprising is that she's gone through this whole election — she's above water. There's more people that have a favorable opinion of her than an unfavorable opinion, which is unheard of in a presidential election. Trump, meanwhile, is minus about 20."

McKinnon, however, added that when he attended a recent Turning Point USA rally with founder Charlie Kirk, he saw a "sea of young men" with MAGA hats.

"There's something that's happening with young men that I think is something that's off the radar screen that bears watching," McKinnon told Brzezinski.
